Within the Naval Engineering unit, the Applications department is responsible, among other things, for the development of Combat & Information Management Systems for naval vessels and their integration with sensor and weapon systems. These complex systems contain advanced solutions in the field of information processing, information management, user interaction and sensor and weapon control. Our software therefore provides essential support for missions ranging from piracy prevention to defense against long-range missiles.

ABOUT THE JOB
As a C & ADA Software Engineer you work in multidisciplinary and self-managing Agile teams. These teams develop and test Combat Management systems, applications and subsystem interfaces in an iterative way. The Agile / Scrum teams are integrally responsible for a multitude of aspects such as requirements analysis, architecture, software implementation, testing, validation and regular product demonstrations.
Do you have a passion for technology and would you like to work on high-tech Naval Command & Control systems? Then you are the person we are looking for.
You are a talented and experienced Software Engineer and enjoy working on the design, development and testing of complex software solutions. You have a completed higher professional or university study in Computer Science or Computer Science.
As a person you are creative, open and flexible and you can operate as a team player. You are also result-oriented, you show initiative and you communicate in a clear manner. A good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing is necessary for a good job performance.
You are a talented software engineer with a passion for designing, developing and testing complex software.
• with a good background in software development with associated methods and tooling,
• who is able to quickly master new domains and techniques, and
• that distinguishes itself as an enthusiastic team player: open communication, cooperation-oriented and you feel your responsibility for the results of the team.
You have experience with, or willingness to learn:
• Procedural programming languages (for example: ADA, Pascal, Delphi, Modula, C)
• ADA development environment GPS IDE
• Real-time (embedded) processing
• Agile / Scrum
• Development environment tooling: SVN / GIT, Maven, Nexus, Jenkins
• Atlassian tooling: Jira & Confluence
