Within the Naval Engineering unit, the Applications department is responsible, among other things, for the development of Combat & Information Management Systems for naval vessels and their integration with sensor and weapon systems.
These complex systems contain advanced solutions in the field of information processing, information management, user interaction and sensor and weapon control. Our software therefore provides essential support for missions ranging from piracy prevention to defense against long-range missiles.

For the Naval Engineering / Applications department, we are looking for a talented

SOFTWARE SYSTEM ENGINEER

with a passion for technology and the ambition to make a career in a high-tech environment.

ABOUT THE JOB
As a Software System Engineer you work with a multidisciplinary team within which the design, development and validation of Command & Control system applications is carried out. As a Software System Engineer you form the link between the customer and her requirements, the product roadmap, the product system architecture and the Agile / Scrum software development team. Usually a Software System Engineer fulfils the role of Agile Product Owner and thereby also manages the Product Backlog of the Command & Control system application (s) to be developed and manages the relevant Agile / Scrum team (s). Activities include discussing the operational requirements with the (internal) customer, designing the functional operation of the product or component and presenting the final solution.

ABOUT YOU
Do you have a passion for technology and would you like to work on high-tech Naval Command & Control systems? Then you are the person we are looking for. You characterize yourself as driven, result-oriented and initiative-oriented and you are strongly focused on achieving results based on effective cooperation.
• You have a completed higher professional or university study in Computer Science or Computer Technology with preferably a number of years of experience in a System Engineering position.
• You have knowledge and experience with Scrum and the Agile principles. You also have affinity with project management.
• You have strong communication skills and you have experience in managing, facilitating, motivating and coaching multidisciplinary Agile / Scrum team (s);
• You are able to create a good working relationship between various stakeholders such as the Project and Product Manager.
• You are able to convert operational product requirements into a functional design for a product or component.
• A good command of the Dutch and English language in speech and writing is necessary for a good job performance.
